A life without stories would be no life at all. And stories bound us, did they not, one to another, the living to the dead, people to animals, people to the land?

spaces for storiesWe both are really interested in the creation of stories and spaces where these can thrive. We share a love of folk tales, unusual words, the history of “everyday” people, snippets of information and things that ignite ideas for narratives…
We work on many projects in which we create spaces for stories to thrive and emerge. These are both outdoor and indoor spaces though a connection with the natural world feeds into all of these spaces. We’re really interested in the reasons why humans create stories and the ways in which they do this – as well as the spaces people use to share their tales. We love the ways stories are recorded to be shared – through books, through poems, through songs and plays… Stories take you to other places and ignite so much inside you, some of which enables you to explore things that might be uncomfortable or magical or you can ponder a few “what-ifs”… We’re always looking at new ways to explore all of this and are really keen to work with others on these investigations. see also Stories out of place SHY Fish La Crayfish Scarthin Books |
