Gallery 1: a selection of school-based projects involving growing and cooking
These photographs are of KS2 classes at different schools.
They involve projects about making more of the school garden space and growing fruit and vegetables (often from seed), as well as cooking the resulting produce (both indoor and outdoor cooking is done at schools).
There is also work around dyeing fleece and cotton using natural dyes, weaving and using found pigments on cotton.
Children are also encouraged to spend time in the garden spaces, observing and recording what they find.
They also do Forest Schools-type activities at school, including shelter building, fire lighting and cooking.
